Als Madalenas Vater stirbt, hinterlässt er das Skript für einen B-Movie samt dazugehöriger Film-Crew. Während der stilecht im Theater begangenen Trauerfeier beschließt sie, selbst das Weltraumabenteuer zu produzieren, auch wenn sie bei Drehbeginn hochschwanger sein wird. Dann häufen sich die Schwierigkeiten: Regisseur und Ex-Mann Davi verschwindet auf mysteriöse Weise, niemand anderes aus der Crew will die Regie übernehmen, das Wetter ist schlecht und es gibt kein Geld. Doch Madalena lässt sich nicht beirren, noch während der Ultraschalluntersuchung setzt sie Himmel und Hölle in Bewegung, um den Film zu realisieren, bevor das Kind auf die Welt kommt. Noá Bonoba ist eine Wucht als Madalena, sie trägt die gesamte queere Community um sie herum und wenn’s sein muss, knurrt sie. Mit viel Humor und Freude an der Farbe thematisiert der Film Machtverhältnisse und Egos an Filmsets und feiert zugleich das Kino als kollektives Schaffen.

When Madalena’s father dies, he leaves behind a film crew and the script for a B-movie. During the funeral, held in style at a theater, she decides to produce the space adventure herself, even though she will be eight month pregnant when filming begins. Then the difficulties start to pile up: director and ex-husband Davi mysteriously disappears, no one else from the crew wants to take over the directing, the weather is bad, and there is no money. But no one can stop Madalena. Even during her ultrasound examination, she moves heaven and earth to finish the film before the baby is born. Noá Bonoba is a force to be reckoned with as Madalena, carrying the entire queer community around her, even growling when necessary. With plenty of humor and a joyous use of color, the film addresses power dynamics and egos on film sets while celebrating cinema as a collective endeavor.
